I heard about AdSense Google and how making your own website can make you money? How is this even possible when you have to pay to put your website up?
Seriously, What is so good about making your own website?? Why do people waste their time with it?

You can have your website for free – blogger.com allows you to start your own blog and to add advertising on it — the rationale is that if you have large readers base you actually become opinion leader and people trust you for the things you say/write. Ads delivered by AdSense are contextual in their nature – thus, your readers actually can become buyers to the products advertised in your blog. In order to keep you motivated to continue writing, part of the revenues come into your pocket as advertising revenues.
The catch is that you have to have really huge readers base and your readers have to be really into buying stuff advertised on your website or blog. Few influential bloggers are working full time as bloggers and make over 100k per year — however, you have to be really really good at writing good and interesting stuff in order to make that amount of money.

A website is ideally your passion. Have you ever heard the saying, “Do what you love and the money will follow?”
Well it’s especially true with making a website. If you just want to make money, so you put up a website or blog, then write a couple of things to try to get visitors, you’ll fail miserably.
It’s a passion, it’s a skill and it’s a commitment. Take the popular Youtube directors for example. They were making videos just for the sake of making videos. They loved filming and coming up with ideas for people to see. It wasn’t until later that Youtube got bought out and compensated them with ad money.
If you have a passion and want to share it with people, first go to a forum designed around the passion. Talk to people with similar interests and gain credibility on the forums. Find out a problem or desire that a lot of people have relating to your passion. Make a website, help people with it on the forum and people will flock to your website and newsletter (make one).
Basically:
Making website to make money = failure
Truly helping people with similar problems and interests = success
well making a site and making it earn money are two different things, but start by making a site, do something you enjoy.
then as you get traffic you put ads and start earning as well.

There are many benefits to having a website. There are also many ways to generate an income from building them. You can easily put up a website for a reasonable price and generate a good amount of income IF you build it properly.
